We are painfully aware of the many ways that obesity has plagued minority and economically disadvantaged families throughout the country, but specifically the Charlotte metro area. While some in our communities’ desire to lead a healthy lifestyle with nourishing foods for their families, meeting these goals is often cost prohibitive.
Here, at Renewed Inspiration, we are doing our part to educate families about healthy and affordable dietary options. We host cooking seminars with local health inspired chefs, using quick, affordable and easy recipes sure to satisfy the palate and the budget. We also provide access to a community garden, where families can plant healthy fruits, vegetables, and herbs, and literally watch and consume the fruits of their labor—proven to be enriching for both the soul and the body!
But we know that healthy living requires a holistic approach and is more than just eating the right things. In addition to our healthy eating programs, we also help our participants focus on physical health through our fitness programs led by a local fitness instructor.
We also partner with Trips for Kids Charlotte, in educating youth on bicycle safety and many mental and physical health benefits of cycling. Participants are also provided with bicycles and led on local cycling journeys throughout Charlotte to get that blood pumping and just have a good time being kids!
